She has more than 74 abstracts and publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals. She is an internationally recognized pioneer in the field of 2D and 3D ultrasound of the pelvic floor and is routinely invited as an expert to national and international conferences including IUGA and AUGS annual meetings to conduct round tables and workshops. She has been invited by the Sri Lankan Gynecology Society, Malaysian Urogynaecological Society and the Canadian Gynecology Society to conduct seminars and workshops on her research work. The protocols created by her in imaging of slings are now being implemented in various US and Canadian Universities. In recognition of her work, she was awarded the Ganatra award for social work by the Mumbai Obstetrics and Gynecological Society for the year 2013, the Prerak fellowship by IIM Lucknow for the year 2014, the Digital Woman Entrepreneur award in 2015, the Mother Teresa Social Leadership Fellowship in 2016 and ’50 Top Social Innovators’ award on World CSR Day in 2015 and 2017. She was one of the five global women leaders featured in the Voice of America Documentary, ‘A Single Step: Journeys of Women Leaders” narrated by Academy award winning actress, Sally Field in 2015. She was chosen by Harvard University from NGO leaders from all over the world to attend the SNP program in 2016 and invited by Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School to speak in the social impact panel in the Harvard India Conference in February 2017. She received the Woman Icon Award in Asia in Singapore in March 2017. She was also a featured speaker in the TEDx Gateway event in 2014. ARMMAN’s mMitra has been awarded the WHO Public Health Champion Award in the innovation category for 2017 and the GSK-Save the Children award for 2017 (one of four awardees out of 170 applications from 40 countries). mMitra was also awarded the People’s Choice award at the Saving Lives at Birth event in Washington DC in 2011, the silver award at the Indian Digital Awards, organized by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) in the social impact space in 2017 and was a finalist at the mBillionth Award for South Asia in 2014. ARMMAN’s Arogya Sakhi home based care project was a finalist at the mBillionth Award for South Asia in 2015. Dr. Hegde had designed the randomized cluster trial that was one of the 8 applications out of more than 600 applications from all over the world that won the DFID UK GPAF grant in 2011.
