She did her post graduation in ophthalmology from L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. She did her retina fellowship from Narayana Nethralaya, Bangalore. She has excellent documentation of all patients including their eye photographs and videos and spends time to study them. Her areas of interest are diabetic retinopathy, vascular occlusions and retinal detachment surgery. Her excellent surgical skills and technique has been instrumental in giving sight to many people who were considered untreatable patients.
