Dr. Naginder Vashisht is a Consultant Ophthalmologist based in New Delhi. He has a post-graduate MD degree in Ophthalmology along with the FRCS and FICO accreditations. Besides, he has also had specialised advanced training in the area of vitreo-retina surgery. Dr. Vashisht has had widespread experience in several hospitals in and around New Delhi. He is currently associated with the Kailash Nursing Home and Eye Care at Patel Nagar, the Artemis Hospital in Gurgaon and the Mata Chanan Devi Hospital in Janakpuri. His other attachments include those of Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon at Max Superspeciality Hospital (Panchsheel and Saket), Consultant at Maharaja Agrasen Hospital (Punjabi Bagh), Consultant at Fortis Hospital (Shalimar Bagh) and Visiting Retina Specialist at Central Railway Hospital, New Delhi. After the completion of his MD, Dr. Vashisht was posted as Senior Registrar (vitreo-retina and uvea) at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi from June 2007 to June 2010. He then joined Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, as Associate Consultant until October 2010. In February 2011 he was posted as Associate Consultant at Dr. BL Kapur Memorial Hospital until September 2011. Dr. Naginder Vashisht is well-versed in various ophthalmological clinical skills, which include fluorescein angiography and indocyanin green angiography, optical coherence tomography, ultrasonography of ocular structures and adnexa, and microbiological evaluation of infectious ocular diseases. In addition, he has had considerable exposure to ocular pathology and pharmacology laboratory procedures, Humphrey visual field evaluation and Goldman perimetry, ocular pachymetry and corneal topographic evaluation. He is also familiar with videokeratography and orbscans, refractive surgery and biometry workup. He has worked extensively on lasers and cryotherapy which include YAG-PI, YAG capsulotomy, retinal photocoagulation (focal, grid, full & sectoral scatter), laser indirect ophthalmoscopy, TTT, PDT and retinal cryotherapy. Dr. Vashisht's surgical experience includes performing phacoemulsification under topical anaesthesia, buckling surgery, pars plana vitrectomy, vitreo-retinal surgeries for complicated retinal detachment, macular hole surgery and managing trauma cases including IOFB and endophthalmitis. Besides his clinical expertise, Dr. Vashisht has been actively involved in research studies, and several of his co-authored papers have been published in peer-reviewed journals or presented as posters or podium presentations at medical conferences. He has also bagged awards for his efforts, and is a distinguished member of many associations linked to ophthalmology. He has attended ten national and six international conferences thus far in his career.
