Dr. A. S. Soin has performed more than 2500 liver transplants in India. He left Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in 2010 along with my team and took over the first of its kind dedicated Institute for Liver Transplantation in Asia and one of the very few in the world. It is a comprehensive facility with a team of 500 members, with the following state-of-the-art features: A 150 bed facility (part of a 1500-bedded hospital, currently 1100 commissioned) exclusively for patients suffering from terminal liver disease, liver cancer and those undergoing liver transplant, a dedicated Liver ICU of 22 beds, a dedicated Center for Pediatric Liver Diseases and Transplantation, 4 ultramodern OTs for liver transplants and complex liver surgery which enables us to perform routinely two and sometimes 3 liver transplants in a day.
