He was top ranked in the postgraduate medical entrance exams for MS General Surgery course at all the premier institutes in India including AIIMS (New Delhi), PGI (Chandigarh) & CMC Vellore. He chooses to study at AIIMS New Delhi. He was further selected as a seniors Resident at the same institute where he worked for three years during which he improved his skills in General Surgery, vascular surgery, and breast cancer surgery. He went to the UK for advanced training and exposure after clearing FRCS exam. He did Fellowship in minimal access surgery at Prof. Cursheri Skills Centre, the University of Dundee from 2002 - 2003. He later worked as Fellow in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery at Frenchay University Hospital, Bristol from 2003 to 2004. He later went on to do training in advanced vascular and endovascular surgery at famous St James University Hospital in Leeds till 2006. He then worked at Pennine acute hospitals as a Senior Fellow in GI surgery for 3 years developing expertise in laparoscopic surgery and bariatric surgery. His Interest include onco and Oncoplastic Surgery: breast cancer, thyroid cancer, GI cancer His benign surgery interests: varicose vein surgery, diabetic foot, laparoscopic surgery and bariatric surgery Proctology: non-operative management of hemorrhoids (piles), Fistula and fissure.
