In 1991, when the idea of fertility treatment was just established in South India, he delivered the first IVF twins. He also delivered the first IVF baby from a frozen semen sample in India. Dr. Sarat is a guide for the PhD programme in reproductive medicine at Dr. MGR Medical University and also has a certification in robotic surgery from Intuitive Surgicals in Strasbourg.
