Dr. Kalkekar is a leading Interventional Cardiologist in Navi Mumbai and is recognised for his expertise in primary angioplasty. Dr. Kalkekar did his graduation and postgraduation in medical studies in aurangabad, and studied and trained for the cardiology superspeciality at reknowed and prestigious asian heart institute and research centre in mumbai. He has extensively trained at the Asian Heart Institute and research centre and has performed some 8,000 interventional procedures in the last ten years. Dr. Kalkekar has worked on several research studies and has held many teaching posts. He worked as a clinical associate at the Asian Heart Institute and research centre in Mumbai from January to November 2010 and as a lecturer in medicine at Dr. Dy Patil medical college and Hospital, Nerul. He currently teaches students appearing for dm (cardiology) at the mgm university of health sciences. He is also a regular attendee and participant at various conferences and workshops related to his field of expertise.
