Dr. R.S.Madhavi has more than 15 years experience in care of newborn and children. Her journey in Pediatrics started at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore. After she relocated to Hyderabad, she has worked in reputed hospitals and is currently with the Birthplace, Hyderabad. Her unique approaches to newborn care and newborn feeding are in consensus with evidence-based practice and have reduced readmission rates and repeated OPD visits in young infants. Her methods of introduction of solid foods, dietary prescriptions, education on preventive strategies and rational antibiotic approach have contributed to significant reduction in hospitalization in children and also decrease in frequent antibiotic use. Her website and blog, 'firstbabymeal' strives to educate parents and hospital staff regarding best practices in care of newborn and dietary approaches to young children. She is the author of the popular book ‘How to introduce solids to infants?’ in which she stresses on giving the 'right foods at the right time' to babies.
