I have been based in Bangalore for the last 3 years, although I visit England on a quarterly basis for Locum work and continuing my professional development. I trained and worked in the national health service of UK for15 years. I have worked mainly in adult psychiatry (Depression, Anxiety disorders, OCD, Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder, Addiction disorders) and also have extensive experience in working with children and the elderly. I have developed a particular expertise in psychotherapeutic interventions and have applied these in a general Adult setting both in outpatient and inpatient settings. I have acquired qualifications in psychodynamic psychotherapy; interpersonal psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural psychotherapy. I have spent the last 7 years as a consultant developing these skills further. This has enabled me to practice truly in a holistic way. My style of psychiatry is very much an attempt to complete the bio- psycho-social jigsaw, this informs both my assessment and the subsequent management of patients. I have kept abreast with the latest psycho-pharmaceutical developments and Practice within the framework set by national institute of clinical excellence in the UK.
