Dr. Raja Hiremani is a Consultant Psychiatrist with Cadabams Hospital, Bangalore. He completed his Specialization in the field of Psychiatry from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore. Subsequently he registered for a Fellowship at The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). He then went on to serve at the Noarlunga Health Services. He worked as a full-time Psychiatric Consultant at Inner South Community Mental Health Center, Oaklands Park, in SA. This has given him an insight into many socio-cultural communities thus being a master in interdisciplinary approach to psychiatry. He is well versed in Hindi, English and Kannada, and knows the basics of Tamil and Telugu. In our team he is one of the few with this lingual advantage. Dr. Raja’s work experience is also international in nature. He served as a Junior Consultant in Adult Psychiatry at NIMHANS between the years 2006 and 2007. After this, he moved to Australia to work as a Registrar in Psychiatry between the years 2007 to 2014. He holds adequate training in the areas of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Adult Psychiatry, Rural Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry and Anxiety Disorders and De-addiction. Dr. Raja has the rare combination of being an eminent personality in the field of Psychiatric Social Work as well, which is a relatively neglected field amongst his seniority. With his knowledge in the areas like Emergency Management and Crisis Intervention, he has educated Doctors in the making and the trainees at N.I.M.H.A.N.S. He has produced various Publications and Research Presentations that have been broadcasted in many countries across the globe. His knack for helping the senior citizens speaks for itself. He strongly believes in sharing the education he possesses, and thus, has always volunteered to train students of Psychiatry.
