Amnurite 5 mg/1500 mcg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
CAUTION
Amnurite 5 mg/1500 mcg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Amnurite 5 mg/1500 mcg Tablet may impair your alertness which may affect your ability to drive.
Amnurite 5 mg/1500 mcg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Amnurite 5 mg/1500 mcg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Uses of Amitriptyline
Amitriptyline is used in the treatment of depression and neuropathic pain.It is used in patients intolerant of or unresponsive to alternative treatment options for depression.
How to use Amitriptyline
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amnurite 5 mg/1500 mcg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take with food if it causes stomach upset
How Amnurite 5 mg/1500 mcg Tablet works
Amitriptyline increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression.
Common Sleepiness, Blurred vision, Increased heart rate, Dryness in mouth, Constipation, Weight gain, Difficulty in urination, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing).
Expert advice for Amitriptyline
The main dose should be taken at night as this drug may produce drowsiness or sleepiness. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for Amitriptyline to start working. You should continue the treatment for at least 6 months after you feel better to stop depression from coming back. If your doctor asks you to stop Amitriptyline, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. You should not discontinue it abruptly. Avoid driving or operating machinery as it may decrease alertness. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Amitriptyline, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness. The addiction/dependence potential of Amitriptyline is very less. It may be extremely dangerous in overdose.
