Ascodex Plus Syrup is used in the treatment of cough.

How to use Ascodex Plus Syrup
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Ascodex Plus Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Ascodex Plus Syrup works
Ascodex Plus Syrup is a combination of five medicines: Guaifenesin, Bromhexine, Diphenhydramine, Ammonium Chloride and Ammonium Chloride which relieve cold symptoms. Guaifenesin and ammonium chloride are expectorants which work by decreasing the stickiness of airway secretions and help in their removal from the airways. Bromhexine is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Diphenhydramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Menthol is an organic compound which produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.
