Uses of Alkof Syrup
Alkof Syrup is used in the treatment of cough and common cold symptoms.

How to use Alkof Syrup
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Alkof Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Alkof Syrup works
Alkof Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Cetirizine, phenylephrine, dextromethorphan and menthol which relieve cough and cold symptoms. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough center in the brain. Menthol is an organic compound which produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.

Side Effects:

Common Stomach upset, Loss of appetite, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Skin rash, Itching, Sleepiness, Flushing of skin.
