Driving

Amterex Syrup may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

Kidney

Amterex Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Amterex Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.Use of Amterex Syrup may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.

Uses of Amterex Syrup
Amterex Syrup is used in the treatment of cough.

How to use Amterex Syrup
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Amterex Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.

How Amterex Syrup works
Amterex Syrup is a combination of five medicines: Ambroxol, guaifenesin, phenylephrine, chlorpheniramine and ammonium chloride which relieve cold and allergy symptoms. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Guaifenesin and ammonium chloride are expectorants which decrease the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) further helping in its removal from the airways. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic that treats runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.

Common Nausea, Vomiting, Loss of appetite, Stomach discomfort, Diarrhoea, Dizziness, Headache, Sleepiness, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Allergic reaction, Rash, Itching, Urticaria.
