Alsium Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Alsium Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.Short-term use is not expected to cause any adverse effects in the breastfed baby, especially if the baby is older than 2 months. During long-term use, monitor for possible sleepiness.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.You may feel sleepy or have concentration or memory problems after taking Alsium Tablet and this may affect your ability to drive.
Alsium Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Alsium Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Limited information is available on the use of Alsium Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.

Alsium Tablet is used in the treatment of severe anxiety and epilepsy.
How to use Alsium Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alsium Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Alsium Tablet works
Alsium Tablet is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
Common Sleepiness, Dizziness, Fatigue, Uncoordinated body movements, Slurred speech, Memory impairment, Headache, Dryness in mouth, Constipation, Depression, Irritability.

If you are taking Alsium for the treatment of severe anxiety, it should not be used more than 4 weeks. It may become less effective over the time. It causes sleepiness or drowsiness.
