Derivent 50mg/1mg Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Derivent 50mg/1mg Syrup is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Derivent 50mg/1mg Syrup may cause side effects such as dizziness, increased or uneven heart rate, muscle cramps or muscle pain. This may affect your ability to drive.
CAUTION

Uses of Derivent Syrup
Derivent 50mg/1mg Syrup is used in the treatment of asthma.
How to use Derivent Syrup
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Derivent 50mg/1mg Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Avoid Derivent 50mg/1mg Syrup with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.
How Derivent 50mg/1mg Syrup works
Derivent 50mg/1mg Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Etophylline and salbutamol are bronchodilators which work by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widen the airways. Guaifenesin is an expectorant which works by decreasing the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in its removal from the airways. Together, they make breathing easier.
Common Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Stomach upset, Restlessness, Palpitations, Dizziness, Headache, Rash, Urticaria, Tremor, Muscle cramp, Increased heart rate.
