Libotryp DS 25 mg/10 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.

How to use Amitriptyline
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Libotryp DS 25 mg/10 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Avoid Libotryp DS 25 mg/10 mg Tablet with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.
How Libotryp DS 25 mg/10 mg Tablet works
Amitriptyline increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression.
Common Sleepiness, Blurred vision, Increased heart rate, Dryness in mouth, Constipation, Weight gain, Difficulty in urination, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing).

The main dose should be taken at night as this drug may produce drowsiness or sleepiness. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for Amitriptyline to start working. You should continue the treatment for at least 6 months after you feel better to stop depression from coming back.
