Exforge 5 mg/80 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation

Exforge 5 mg/80 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Exforge 5 mg/80 mg Tablet may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or tiredness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney

Exforge 5 mg/80 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Exforge 5 mg/80 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended. No dose adjustment is needed in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.

Exforge 5 mg/80 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of high blood pressure.

How to use Exforge Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Exforge 5 mg/80 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Exforge 5 mg/80 mg Tablet works
Exforge 5 mg/80 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and valsartan. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) and valsartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). They work by widening and relaxing the blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure.

Side Effects:

Common Nausea, Altered taste, Diarrhoea, Stomach upset, Headache, Dizziness, Edema, Ankle swelling, Increased potassium level in blood, Weakness, Numbness of extremity, Flushing of skin, Decreased blood pressure.
