Famal Kit may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
CAUTION
Famal Kit is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Famal Kit may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

Artesunate is used in the treatment of malariaIt is not used to prevent malaria or to treat severe malaria (where it has affected the brain, lungs or kidneys).

Do not start or continue the artesunate tablets and consult your doctor If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to artesunate.Do not start or continue the artesunate tablets and consult your doctor you are in first 3 months of pregnancy  or If you are breast feeding.Do not drive or operate machinery after taking artesunate because you may feel sleepy.

How Famal Kit works
Sulfadoxine is an antibiotic. It stops the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication.
Common Nausea, Vomiting, Skin rash, Allergic reaction.
Expert advice for Sulfadoxine
Take sulfadoxine along with food to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.
Take sulfadoxine with plenty of water to prevent crystalluria (crystals found in the urine when performing a urine test).
Avoid excessive sun exposure and wear protective clothing while taking sulfadoxine, as it may increase sensitivity to sunlight.ÂÂ
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of rash or any other allergic reaction or folate deficiency (low level of folic acid in the body).
You will be regularly monitored for complete blood count, liver function tests, analysis of urine for crystalluria if sulfadoxine is administered for > 3 months.
Do not drive or operate any machinery while taking sulfadoxine as it may cause dizziness.
Do not take if patient is allergic to sulfadoxine or any of its ingredients.
Do not take if patients with impaired kidney or liver function, blood dyscrasias (a diseased state of blood), folate deficiency, severe allergy or bronchial asthma, G6PD deficiency.
Do not given to Children less than 2 months.
Do not given to regnant women at term and breastfeeding women.

Pyrimethamine is a weak base that reaches high concentration within the malarial parasite and causes accumulation of toxic heme pigment, which kills it.
Common Abnormal bruising, Abnormal skin pigmentation, Anemia, Change in blood test results, Dizziness, Headache, Vomiting, Weakness, Diarrhoea, Nausea.

Pyrimethamine when given with sulphonamide, it should be given with folic acid (vitamin) supplement.
Do not use pyrimethamine if you are allergic to pyrimethamine or any other ingredient.
Do not take pyrimethamine if you have megaloblastic anemia due to folate deficiency.
Do not take pyrimethamine if you have kidney or liver problems; fits (seizures); depression; bone marrow problems; stomach or bowel problems (eg, malabsorption syndrome); phenylketonuria, or alcoholism.
