How Famal Kit works
Sulfadoxine is an antibiotic. It stops the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication.

Side Effects:

Common Nausea, Vomiting, Skin rash, Allergic reaction.

Expert advice for Sulfadoxine

Take sulfadoxine along with food to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.
Take sulfadoxine with plenty of water to prevent crystalluria (crystals found in the urine when performing a urine test).
Avoid excessive sun exposure and wear protective clothing while taking sulfadoxine, as it may increase sensitivity to sunlight. 
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of rash or any other allergic reaction or folate deficiency (low level of folic acid in the body).
You will be regularly monitored for complete blood count, liver function tests, analysis of urine for crystalluria if sulfadoxine is administered for > 3 months.
Do not drive or operate any machinery while taking sulfadoxine as it may cause dizziness.
Do not take if patient is allergic to sulfadoxine or any of its ingredients.
Do not take if patients with impaired kidney or liver function, blood dyscrasias (a diseased state of blood), folate deficiency, severe allergy or bronchial asthma, G6PD deficiency.
