Isocaldin 300 mg/10 mg Syrup is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving

Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Isocaldin 300 mg/10 mg Syrup can cause fits, mental health problems and optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve that may cause loss of vision.) This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

Isocaldin 300 mg/10 mg Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Isocaldin 300 mg/10 mg Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Isocaldin 300 mg/10 mg Syrup is used in the treatment of tuberculosis.

How to use Isocaldin Syrup
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Isocaldin 300 mg/10 mg Syrup is to be taken empty stomach.Avoid Isocaldin 300 mg/10 mg Syrup with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

How Isocaldin 300 mg/10 mg Syrup works
Isocaldin 300 mg/10 mg Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Isoniazid and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). Isoniazid is an antibiotic which prevents the TB bacteria from forming their own protective covering. This kills the bacteria and eradicates the infection. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is added to prevent nerve damage which may be a side effect of isoniazid.

Side Effects:

Common Rash, Fever, Peripheral neuropathy (tingling and numbness of feet and hand), Increased liver enzymes, Jaundice.
