Isokin 300mg/10mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Isokin 300mg/10mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving

Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Isokin 300mg/10mg Tablet can cause fits, mental health problems and optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve that may cause loss of vision.) This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

Isokin 300mg/10mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Isokin 300mg/10mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

Uses of Isokin Tablet
Isokin 300mg/10mg Tablet is used in the treatment of tuberculosis.

How to use Isokin Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Isokin 300mg/10mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.Avoid Isokin 300mg/10mg Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

How Isokin 300mg/10mg Tablet works
Isokin 300mg/10mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Isoniazid and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). Isoniazid is an antibiotic which prevents the TB bacteria from forming their own protective covering. This kills the bacteria and eradicates the infection. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is added to prevent nerve damage which may be a side effect of isoniazid.

Side Effects:

Common Rash, Fever, Peripheral neuropathy (tingling and numbness of feet and hand), Increased liver enzymes, Jaundice.
