Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is Ivazine used for?
Ivazine is a heart medicine used in adult patients to treat symptomatic stable angina pectoris (chest pain) and chronic heart failure.

Q. How does Ivazine work in heart failure?
Chronic heart failure is a heart disease which happens when your heart cannot pump enough blood to the rest of your body. Ivazine mainly works by reducing the heart rate a few beats per minute. As increased heart rate affects the heart functioning in patients with chronic heart failure, the specific heart rate lowering action of Ivazine helps to improve the heart functioning and survival in these patients

Q. How does Ivazine reduce angina?
Angina is a heart disease which happens when the heart does not receive enough oxygen. Ivazine mainly works by reducing the heart rate a few beats per minute. In this way, Ivazine helps to control and reduce the number of angina attacks.

Q. Does Ivazine lower blood pressure?
Ivazine can lower blood pressure, although it is an uncommon side effect. Uncontrolled blood pressure is a common side effect of Ivazine. Please consult your doctor before taking Ivazine if you suffer from mild to moderate low blood pressure or if you suffer from uncontrolled blood pressure, especially after a change in your treatment for blood pressure.
