Lasix 40mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Lasix 40mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

No dose adjustment of Lasix 40mg Tablet is recommended.However, use of Lasix 40mg Tablet is not recommended in severe kidney disease patients who are unable to pass urine or the kidney damage is due to some medicines. Please inform your doctor.

Uses of Lasix Tablet
Lasix 40mg Tablet is used in the treatment of oedema, hypertension and hypercalcemia.It treats oedema (fluid overload) associated with heart, liver, kidney or lung disease.

How to use Lasix Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Lasix 40mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Lasix Tablet works
Lasix 40mg Tablet is a loop diuretic. It acts on kidneys and removes excess water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine.

Side Effects:

Common Dehydration, Decreased potassium level in blood, Decreased magnesium level in blood, Increased blood uric acid.

Expert advice for Lasix Tablet
Lasix helps removes excess water from your body and lower blood pressure. Take it in the morning with breakfast to avoid getting up at night to urinate. May cause dizziness in the initial days of treatment. Monitor your blood pressure after starting Lasix, and notify your doctor if it hasn't gone down. Notify your doctor if you experience dizziness, tiredness, or muscle weakness that doesn't go away. Take potassium supplements or potassium-rich diet (banana, spinach, coconut water etc) as Lasix can decrease your potassium levels and lead to dehydration. Requires routine blood tests to monitor your kidney function.

Q. How is Lasix different from Torasemide?
Both Lasix and Torasemide are loop diuretics and are used to treat high blood pressure and edema caused by an underlying liver, kidney or lung diseases but Lasix is also used in the treatment of hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood).
