Midacip Nasal Spray is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Midacip Nasal Spray is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.Midacip Nasal Spray should be used for short periods and sleepiness of the baby should be watched. The withdrawal of Midacip Nasal Spray should be gradual.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Midacip Nasal Spray may make the patient sleepy, forgetful or affect their concentration or coordination. This may affect their ability to drive.
Midacip Nasal Spray should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Midacip Nasal Spray may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
There is limited information available on the use of Midacip Nasal Spray in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
Uses of Midacip Nasal Spray
Midacip Nasal Spray is used for anesthesia, sedation in intensive care unit (ICU) and conscious sedation during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
How to use Midacip Nasal Spray
Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Insert the bottle tip into one nostril and close the other nostril. Direct the spray away from the cartilage diving the two sides of your nose and toward the sides of your nostril. As you spray, breath gently and keep the head upright. Repeat in the other nostril.
How Midacip Nasal Spray works
Midacip Nasal Spray is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
Common Sleepiness, Agitation, Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Injection site pain, Memory impairment, Decreased blood pressure, Hiccup.
Expert advice for Midacip Nasal Spray
If you are taking Midacip for the treatment of insomnia and anxiety, it should not be used more than 4 weeks. It may become less effective over the time. It causes sleepiness or drowsiness. If this happens to you, do not drive or use machinery. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Midacip, as it may cause excessive sleepiness or drowsiness. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems. The addiction / habit-forming potential of Midacip is very high.
