Zotral 50mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Zotral 50mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Zotral 50mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Zotral 50mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Zotral 50mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Zotral 50mg Tablet is recommended.However, inform your doctor if you have an underlying kidney disease as you may be given a smaller dose initially and then increased slowly as required.
Zotral 50mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Zotral 50mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Zotral 50mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

Zotral 50mg Tablet is used in the treatment of depression, anxiety disorder, phobia, post traumatic stress disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
How to use Zotral Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zotral 50mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Zotral Tablet works
Zotral 50mg Tablet is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. It works by increasing the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger in the brain. This improves mood and physical symptoms in depression and relieves symptoms of panic and obsessive disorders.

It can take 2-3 weeks for Zotral to start working. Do not stop treatment suddenly as this may cause a stomach upset, flu-like withdrawal symptoms and sleep disturbance. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Zotral, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness. If your doctor asks you to stop Zotral, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. The addiction/dependence potential of Zotral is very less. You may develop anxiety during initiation of therapy.
Q. Is Zotral addictive?
Zotral is not addictive. However, sudden discontinuation or decrease in dose of Zotral may cause effects like dizziness, numbness, sleep disturbances, agitation or anxiety, headaches, nausea, vomiting and shaking. Patients should follow the advice of the doctor regarding its use and discontinuation
