Tripnor 0.5 mg/10 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Tripnor 0.5 mg/10 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.As Tripnor 0.5 mg/10 mg Tablet may affect your alertness which may affect your ability to drive.
There is limited information available on the use of Tripnor 0.5 mg/10 mg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Tripnor 0.5 mg/10 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Tripnor 0.5 mg/10 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Inform your doctor if you develop any signs and symptoms of jaundice while taking this medicine. Use of Tripnor 0.5 mg/10 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

How to use Fluphenazine
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tripnor 0.5 mg/10 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Tripnor 0.5 mg/10 mg Tablet works
Fluphenazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood.
Common Dystonia, Weight gain, Sleepiness, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Akathisia, Dryness in mouth, Constipation, Abnormality of voluntary movements, Parkinsonism.

Do not take fluphenazine when you are under the influence of alcohol or any sleep-inducing, cough and/ or allergy medication.
Do not drive or operate machinery after taking fluphenazine as it may cause dizziness and movement disorder.

Nortriptyline increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression.
Common Sleepiness, Increased heart rate, Weight gain, Difficulty in urination, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Dryness in mouth, Constipation.
Expert advice for Nortriptyline
The main dose should be taken at night as this drug may produce drowsiness or sleepiness. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for Nortriptyline to start working. You should continue the treatment for at least 6 months after you feel better to stop depression from coming back. If your doctor asks you to stop Nortriptyline, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. You should not discontinue it abruptly. Avoid driving or operating machinery as it may decrease alertness. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Nortriptyline, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness.
