Perito 250mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation

Perito 250mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Dizziness and vertigo (a feeling of dizziness or “spinning”) are uncommon side effects reported by patients taking Perito 250mg Tablet

Kidney

Perito 250mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Perito 250mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

There is limited information available on the use of Perito 250mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

Uses of Perito Tablet
Perito 250mg Tablet is used in the treatment of increased phosphate levels in bloodIt is used in patients with kidney problems and on dialysis.

How to use Perito Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Perito 250mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Perito Tablet works
Perito 250mg Tablet inhibits the absorption of phosphate from the intestine and lower the phosphate levels in the blood.

Side Effects:

Common Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal pain, Flatulence, Constipation, Diarrhoea, Dyspepsia, Decreased calcium level in blood.

Expert advice for Perito Tablet
• Lanthanum carbonate is not recommended in children.
• Inform your doctor that you are taking lanthanum carbonate as it interferes with stomach x-rays.
• You will be regularly monitored with lab test, including phosphate levels while using lanthanum carbonate
• Do not take non-prescription antacids while taking lanthanum carbonate.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
• It should not be given to patients allergic to lanthanum carbonate or any of its ingredients.
• Lanthanum carbonate should not be given to patients having a blockage in bowels (eg, ileus, impaction).
