Uses of Pentasa Suppository
Pentasa Suppository is used in the treatment of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.

How to use Pentasa Suppository
Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Wash and dry the area. Lie down and gently insert the suppository into the area with or without the use of an applicator as mentioned in the label. You or your care giver may be taught on how to use this medicine at home.

How Pentasa Suppository works
Pentasa Suppository blocks the release of chemical messengers that cause inflammation of the lining of the intestines.

Common Nausea, Headache, Diarrhoea, Abdominal pain.

Expert advice for Pentasa Suppository

Do not take the medicine if you are allergic to mesalazine, to any other content in the medicine, aspirin and other salicylate drugs.
Do not take mesalazine if you have severe kidney or liver problems, blood disorders or uncontrolled bleeding.
Do not take mesalazine if you have stomach or bowel ulcers or a history of bleeding ulcers, glucose-galactose mala absorption, Lapp-lactase deficiency or galactose intolerance.
Doctor’s advice should be considered in case of patients with liver, kidney or lung disease (asthma).
Avoid taking mesalazine if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or breast-feeding.
