Sterio 16mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
SAFE
Sterio 16mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Undesirable effects, such as dizziness, vertigo, visual disturbances and fatigue are possible after treatment with Sterio 16mg Tablet. This may affect your driving ability.
SAFE
Sterio 16mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Sterio 16mg Tablet is recommended.However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
There is limited information available on the use of Sterio 16mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
Uses of Sterio Tablet
Sterio 16mg Tablet is used in the treatment of severe allergic reaction, allergic disorders, asthma, rheumatic disorder, skin disorders, eye disorders and nephrotic syndrome.
How to use Sterio Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Sterio 16mg Tablet is to be taken with food.Avoid Sterio 16mg Tablet with dietary sodium.
How Sterio Tablet works
Methylprednisolone belongs to a group of medicines called as corticosteroids. It increases the level of corticosteroid, which are naturally present in the body and thereby controls inflammation. It has anti-inflammatory, metabolic, immune, and hormonal effects on the body..
Common Electrolyte imbalance, Redistribution/accumulation of body fat, Bone degradation, Increased risk of infection, Muscle disorders, Increased blood pressure, Increased glucose level in blood, Skin scar, Altered bone growth, Cataract, Behavioural changes.
Expert advice for Sterio Tablet
Do not take the medicine:
If you are allergic to it or to any other content in the medicine.
If you have a serious infection, particularly in the lungs or esophagus, that is untreated.Â
Do not stop this medicine before recommended duration. Consult your doctor for gradual reduction of dose.Do not receive a "live" vaccine while using methylprednisolone. The vaccine may not work as well during this time, and may not fully protect you from disease.Inform your doctor before taking the medicine:
If you are suffering from any infection.
If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or breast-feeding a baby.
Inform your doctor before taking the medicine:
If you are taking antibiotics for any infection, pain killers or contraceptive pills or any medication for heart disease or peptic ulcer.
If you are going to undergo any laboratory test.
Stay away from people who are suffering from infections like chicken-pox, measles, shingles or tuberculosis.
