Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.Shipam 5mg Tablet should be used for short periods and sleepiness of the baby should be watched. The withdrawal of Shipam 5mg Tablet should be gradual.

Driving

Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Shipam 5mg Tablet can make you sleepy, forgetful, and have poor co-ordination. This may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Shipam 5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Shipam 5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Dose adjustment may be required if it is to be given for a long period

Liver

There is limited information available on the use of Shipam 5mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

Shipam 5mg Tablet is used in the treatment of short term anxiety, epilepsy, muscle spasms and alcohol withdrawal.

How to use Shipam Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Shipam 5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Shipam Tablet works
Shipam 5mg Tablet is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Common Sleepiness, Memory impairment, Uncoordinated body movements, Dizziness, Headache, Dryness in mouth, Fatigue, Depression, Irritability, Slurred speech, Constipation.

If you are taking Shipam for the treatment of insomnia and anxiety, it should not be used more than 4 weeks. It may become less effective over the time. It causes sleepiness or drowsiness. If this happens to you, do not drive or use machinery. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Shipam, as it may cause excessive sleepiness or drowsiness.
