SAFE
Womnil Suspension is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Womnil Suspension may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Womnil Suspension is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Womnil Suspension may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
CAUTION
Womnil Suspension should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Womnil Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Inform your doctor if you develop signs of jaundice like yellowing of eyes and skin, itching, and clay colored stools while taking this medicine.

How to use Womnil Suspension
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Womnil Suspension may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Albendazole belongs to class of medications called anti-helminthic. Albendazole works by keeping the worm from absorbing sugar (glucose), so that the worm loses energy and dies..

Womnil is an antibiotic. It is an anthelmintic drug and is used in the treatment of many parasitic infections.
Q. What is Womnil used for?
Womnil is used for the treatment of infections caused by helminths (worms) like Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm/threadworm), Ascaris lumbricoides (roundworm), Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus (hookworms), Trichuris trichiura (whipworm), Strongyloides stercoralis, animal hookworm larvae causing cutaneous larva migrans, and Opisthorchis viverrini (liver flukes) and Clonorchis sinensis. It is also indicated for the treatment of Hymenolepis nana and Taenia spp. (tapeworm) infections and has shown good activity against anaerobic protozoa like Giardia lamblia and Trichomonas vaginalis. Please consult your doctor before taking any treatment for worms as there could be many worms against which Womnil would not be effective.
Q. How does Womnil work?
Womnil works by killing the larva and the adult form of the worm by inhibiting tubulin polymerization which causes energy depletion and decreases the mobility of the worm and hence kills the helminth.
Q. Can I take Womnil with fluconazole?
Womnil can be taken with fluconazole. No drug-drug interactions have been reported between the two. However, interactions can occur. Please consult your doctor before taking the two medicines together.

Womnil is safe if taken for prescribed duration in prescribed doses as advised by your doctor.
Q. Is Womnil effective for treating pinworms?
