Zophost 10mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation

Zophost 10mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.If you are taking Zophost 10mg Tablet during breastfeeding, monitor baby's blood calcium levels during the first two months.

Driving

Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Zophost 10mg Tablet is not expected to have any effects but in rare cases, it may cause dizziness, severe muscle, joint and bone pain and eye pain or inflammation. This may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Zophost 10mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Zophost 10mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Dose adjustment is not recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.

Liver

Zophost 10mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Zophost 10mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Uses of Zophost Tablet
Zophost 10mg Tablet is used in the treatment of osteoporosisThis disease mostly occurs in women after menopause, but can sometimes be seen in men. It can also occur in patients receiving steroids.

How to use Zophost Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zophost 10mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

How Zophost Tablet works
Zophost 10mg Tablet is a bisphosphonate. It acts by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause the destruction of bone, thereby strengthening the bones and minimizing the risk of fractures.

Side Effects:

Common Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Headache, Heartburn, Difficulty in swallowing.

Expert advice for Zophost Tablet
Take Zophost in the morning on an empty stomach with water. Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes after taking Zophost. Maintain an upright posture for 30 minutes after taking Zophost. Inform your doctor if you experience pain in jaw, throat, chest, abdomen, hips or thighs. Inform your doctor if you are about to undergo any major dental procedures, as Zophost may need to be discontinued temporarily.
