Mycopas Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation

Driving

Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Mycopas Tablet can cause fits, mental health problems and optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve that may cause loss of vision.) This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

There is limited information available on the use of Mycopas Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Uses of Mycopas Tablet
Mycopas Tablet is used in the treatment of tuberculosis.

How to use Mycopas Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Mycopas Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.Avoid Mycopas Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

How Mycopas Tablet works
Mycopas Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Sodium aminosalicylate and isoniazid which treat tuberculosis. Sodium aminosalicylate stops bacteria causing TB from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for their multiplication. Isoniazid prevents the TB bacteria from forming their own protective covering. This kills the bacteria and eradicates the infection.

Side Effects:

Common Rash, Fever, Peripheral neuropathy (tingling and numbness of feet and hand), Increased liver enzymes, Jaundice.
