Topdep 10mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
CAUTION
Topdep 10mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.Babies should be monitored for behavioral side effects such as sleepiness or fussiness.
Topdep 10mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Topdep 10mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Topdep 10mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Limited information is available on the use of Topdep 10mg Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.
CAUTION
Topdep 10mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Topdep 10mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Uses of Topdep Tablet
Topdep 10mg Tablet is used in the treatment of depression, anxiety disorder, phobia, post traumatic stress disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
How to use Topdep Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Topdep 10mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Topdep Tablet works
Topdep 10mg Tablet is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. It works by increasing the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger in the brain. This improves mood and physical symptoms in depression and relieves symptoms of panic and obsessive disorders.
Common Sleep disorder, Fatigue, Nausea, Dryness in mouth, Increased sweating, Weakness.
Expert advice for Topdep Tablet
It can take 2-3 weeks for Topdep to start working. Do not stop treatment suddenly as this may cause a stomach upset, flu-like withdrawal symptoms and sleep disturbance. If your doctor asks you to stop Topdep, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Topdep, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness. The addiction/dependence potential of Topdep is very less. You may develop anxiety during initiation of therapy.

Topdep does not contain MAOI. However, Topdep should not be taken if a MAOI inhibitor is taken in the past 14 days, as it may cause dangerous drug interaction.
