WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Tigatel 12mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
CAUTION
Tigatel 12mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Tigatel 12mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
SAFE
Tigatel 12mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Tigatel 12mg Tablet is recommended.
CAUTION
Tigatel 12mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Tigatel 12mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Tigatel 12mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Uses of Tigatel Tablet
Tigatel 12mg Tablet is used in the treatment of epilepsy.
How to use Tigatel Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tigatel 12mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
How Tigatel Tablet works
Tigatel 12mg Tablet controls seizures by increasing the levels of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
Common Impaired concentration, Sleepiness, Dizziness, Low energy, Nausea, Nervousness, Abdominal pain, Altered thinking, Tremor.
Expert advice for Tigatel Tablet
Inform your doctor before taking tiagabine if you have mild to moderate liver disorders or intolerance to some sugars.
Consult your doctor if you notice increase in the number and severity of seizures, appearance of skin rashes, pimples or blisters, anxiety, depression or visual disorders.
Do not drive a vehicle or operate heavy machinery after taking this drug as it may cause dizziness, sleepiness or tiredness.
Do not stop the treatment with tiagabine without consulting your doctor as it may lead to recurrence of seizures.
Inform your doctor before taking the drug if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding.
