DESCRIPTION
Kali Carbonicum also known as Carbonate of Potash is a deep and acting remedy and is useful for conditions such as peptic ulcer, sour stomach, respiratory complaints, and arthritis. Slightest weather changes affect and cold weather brings on many complaints. Anemic persons with a tendency to over sensitiveness of all parts. A person cannot bear being touched esp. the feet. 

Commonly used for: 

Head 
Vertigo on turning a headache from riding in cold wind 
Great dryness of hair, falls out 

Extremities 
Arthritis 
Joint pains with stiffness especially early in the morning. 
Joint pains worse from cold and dampness. 
Lower Back pain - sharp pain right up till the thighs. Lower Back pain during pregnancy. Feels like lying down all the time. 
Pain from hip to knee. Pain in knees 

Respiratory System 
This remedy is excellent for asthma, cold and cough. 
Asthma is severe, cannot lie down, has to be propped up. esp. worse between 2 - 4 am. 
Dry, wheezing cough at 3 am 
Good for colds and cough with accumulation of mucus in the chest worse in morning and on eating 
Leaning forward, bending forward, sitting up gives relief in respiration symptoms 
Useful for pneumonia, tuberculosis which is relieved in warm weather 
Hard white sticky masses of a cough are thrown out during coughing 

Stomach 
Acidity in older people with burning and sourness. Nausea relieved by lying down. Sensation as if the stomach is full of water. 
Total disgust for all foods 
Excessive flatulence and constipation. 
Baggy swelling of upper eyelids 
Pain in rectum 1-2 hours before passing stool with difficulty in passing stools 

Dose- As prescribed by the physician. Can be taken along with other allopathic medicines. 

Precautions 
Maintain half an hour gap between food/drink/any other medicines and homeopathic medicine. 
Avoid any strong smell in the mouth while taking medicine e.g. camphor, garlic, onion, coffee, hing. 

Side effects-None.
