DESCRIPTION
Phytolacca Berry commonly called poke root, acts as a good remedy for obesity. This plant works on the fibrous, and lipomatous tissues of the body. This is regarded as one of the most important of indigenous American plants and one of the most striking in appearance. 
 
Phytolacca is claimed to assist with weight loss and treat fungal infections, tonsillitis, fluid retention, painful menstruation, syphilis, mumps and rheumatoid arthritis. It is also an alternative cancer treatment. Phytolacca berry has beneficial effects on digestion, helps remove waste material in tissues throughout the body and improves lymphatic and vascular function. 
Phytolacca plays an important part in dermatological practice. It destroys the itch insect, consequently, it is of value in scabies. The condition which calls for it is one of indolent action of the skin, usually associated with vitiated blood. There is a glandular difficulty a scrofulous condition. There may be scaly, vesicular, pustular, or tuberculous eruptions, and lymphatic enlargements with pain. The skin may be inflamed, but does not itch because there is not active enough in the part.
