Tegafur is used in the treatment of ovarian cancer, head and neck cancer, cervical cancer, Testicular cancer., breast cancer, non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), blood cancer, lung cancer, bone cancer and urinary bladder cancer.

Tegafur interferes with the growth of DNA and RNA of the cancer cells by substituting their building blocks. It prevents the cancer cells from growing and multiplying.

Nausea, Vomiting, Weakness, Loss of appetite, Reduced blood platelets, Increased risk of infection, Decreased white blood cell count, Bronchospasm, Diarrhoea, Stomatitis (Inflammation of the mouth), Esophagitis, Inflammation of the rectum

• Tegafur is not recommended for children under 18 years of age.
• Inform your doctor if you have or ever had liver problems, diarrhea, blood disorders, or kidney problems.
• Do not drive or operate machinery as tegafur may make you feel tired or cause nausea or blurred vision.
