Warfarin is used in the treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
It is also used after artificial heart valve implantation.

Warfarin is an oral anticoagulant. It acts by preventing the formation of blood clots. Although it does not dissolve the existing blood clots, it inhibits them from growing larger and causing serious problems.

Bleeding

• Good medication for preventing blood clots.
• For best results, take Warfarin at the same time every day.

• Warfarin should not be used in the pregnancy. You may breastfeed.
